HARARE – After businessman Wicknel Chivhayo publicly declined to assist musician Greatman, Zimbabweans came together in a remarkable show of solidarity raising over US$10,000 through a GoFundMe campaign to help buy him a car.

Greatman, who lives with a disability, had made a heartfelt appeal for mobility assistance, hoping for a response from Chivayo, known for his high-profile donations. When that failed, the public stepped in rallying around the artist with swift and generous contributions.

The move has been widely praised as a triumph of community over selective philanthropy, highlighting the compassion of everyday citizens backing one of their own.
