Ashley Masendeke ( Mai Jeremaya) has appeared in court where she is the complainant in the case against Thabo Blessing Dube and Martin Charlie. Mai Jeremaya revealed that her husband has since left. Mai Jeremaya says she is not married to her partner but they have three children. She said she is an actress and a social media influencer. Mai Jeremaya said when she went to meet Charlie, she did not have money to go back home. She revealed that when she went into the room, she took off her clothes. She said if she wanted to sleep with anyone, it would have been with Sam and not the two boys. Charlie said Mai Jeremaya is the one who initiated the meeting through text. Charlie claimed that when in town, Mai Jeremaya revealed that she was desperate for money as she had recently seperated from her husband and proposed a payment of $20 for a short time. Mai Jeremaya demanded upfron payment which was given. After the activity, Mai Jeremaya suddenly demanded $500. Mai Jeremaya later engaged boss Khedha and kidnapped them, together with their parents.

Former President Edgar Lungu’s body is expected to lie in state at his residence in Lusaka’s Chifwema area. Family spokesperson Makebi Zulu made the announcement during a joint press briefing between the Lungu family and the government, held in South Africa on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Mr. Zulu said the body will be transported from South Africa to Zambia on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, aboard a private charter provided by well-wishers, together with members of the former President’s family. A state funeral, to be attended by various dignitaries, will be held at Mlungushi on Sunday, June 22. Mr. Zulu also disclosed that a valedictory ceremony for Mr. Lungu will take place at the Supreme Court grounds in Lusaka, followed by a church service at the Show Grounds, presided over by Bishop Alick Banda. Lungu’s body will lie in state at his residence and will be returned there after each of the scheduled events. Meanwhile, Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has announced that President Hakainde Hichilema will preside over the funeral proceedings. HH extended the period of National Mourning to June 23, 2025.
