The history of Tapfumaneyi Promotions:
– December 2017 Tapfumaneyi appointed PM in the Ministry of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators, Former Political Detainees and Restrictees
– 31 January 2019 – Tapfumaneyi was appointed a Director of the Hebert Chitepo School of ideology in Manicaland at Knowstics Academy in Bonda
– 14 January 2020: Brigadier-General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi (Rtd) and Dr Gatsha Mazithulela, were appointed as deputy directors-general of the President’s Department. They replaced Mr Aaron Nhepera, who was redeployed to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage as permanent secretary last year.
– 7 May 2025 – Tapfumaney appointed ZNA Chief of Staff
– 29 May – Tapfumaneyi appointment confirmed
– 7 June – Tapfumaneyi elevated to Major General
Tapfumaneyi is expected to eventually take over from the newly appointed Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Matatu.
