Zimbabwean lawyer and advocate Thabani Mpofu has come out strongly to dismiss rumors circulating online that opposition leader Nelson Chamisa is working with business magnate Kuda Tagwirei.

In his tweet, Mpofu rejected the claims, stating that he would be the first to publicly disown Chamisa if such a connection were to be established.

Mpofu clarified that Chamisa is not a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church, contrary to speculation.

He also denied that Chamisa participates in any SDA prayer group, including one that would allow him to meet with Tagwirei.

Another Zimbabwean citizen has also come forward to corroborate Mpofu’s statement, pointing out that Chamisa is actually a pastor with the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) church, not the SDA church.

Rumors of Chamisa being a Zanu-pf puppet had sparked intense debate and speculations online.
