Norton former legislator Temba Mliswa has weighed in on the recent robbery of businessman Wicknel Chivhayo’s in-laws, blaming Chivhayo for the incident.
Mliswa claimed that Chivhayo’s decision to publicly announce the amount he paid for lobola (bride price) on social media drew thieves to his in-laws’ residence, leading to the robbery.
Mliswa argued that Chivhayo should have kept the details of his lobola payment private, rather than sharing them on a public platform.
“This unfortunate incident is squarely on sekuru vangu Moyo who alerted everyone as to the huge amount of money that were paid at the lobola event,” Mliswa said.
“In our current situation as a country, as a public figure one should be conscientious to know what things to put out in the public domain.”
Mliswa also used the opportunity to reveal the advise he had given Chivhayo that he should build a lasting legacy. “I have told sekuru to put that money to good use and donate computers to Dudley Hall School were he learnt,” Mliswa said.
