Minister of Energy and power development Edgar Moyo said that Zimbabwe will face atleast two years of power outages.

He stated that they’re working tirelessly to stabilize the power outages however it will take atleast two years to stabilize.

Imports and load shedding are currently bridging the gap in the power shortfall as 1,735 mega watts is the daily demand against 1,232 mega watts available.

Minister of Energy ensured the public that the units that are being repaired at Hwange will ensure that by 2026 electricity would have stabilized.

He also highlighted that the water levels at Kariba has also affected it’s generation of power as it now only generates 104mega watts.

The increase in rain is said to increase power availability next year.

Power outages are currently affecting businesses and industries as they have increased to 18hours.
