The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has introduced a $50 visa requirement for citizens of Zimbabwe, marking a significant shift in the country’s immigration policy.
Until now, Zimbabwe was one of the few countries with visa-free access to the DRC.
The move has been met with criticism from various quarters, with some arguing that it is a retaliatory measure against Zimbabwe’s own refugee policies.
Zimbabwe has been hosting thousands of Congolese refugees, many of whom have fled conflict and persecution in the DRC, without requiring them to obtain visas.
” Africa is not united .Visa for what in Africa instead of having on currency and free movement in Africa with one passport ,”
The development has sparked a wider debate about the state of African unity.
