Two Africa University graduates, Nyasha Mukanganwi and Nyasha Musimwa, who survived a fatal bus accident just 48 hours earlier, were stretchered to the graduation podium to receive their degrees earlier this week.

The accident had claimed five lives and left several others injured.

The graduates were capped by former Mozambican President Joaquim Chissano, who emphasized the importance of peace and solidarity in his address.

A total of 569 students graduated, with Chissano urging them to take up the responsibility of developing the African continent.
