Zimbabwean public figure Mudiwa Hood has announced his decision to take legal action against cyberbullies.

Hood, known for his outspoken nature, expressed his frustration over the pain and harm inflicted by individuals on social media platforms.

In a recent statement on Twitter, Hood emphasized the importance of accountability in the digital space. He highlighted the Cyber and Data Protection Act, which criminalizes cyberbullying in Zimbabwe, stating that those who engage in such behavior could face serious legal consequences.

“It is high time we become responsible for our reckless actions and the pain we inflict on others,” he wrote.

Hood revealed that he is pursuing several lawsuits related to online defamation, targeting bloggers and social media users who have spread harmful misinformation about him. He specifically addressed false allegations regarding his sexual orientation, asserting, “I am not gay; I am not homophobic, and I have never been.”

In addition to local legal actions, Mudiwa Hood has also sought legal recourse in Australia, where he believes he can achieve significant compensation for the emotional distress caused by the cyberbullying.
