Bulawayo Mayor, David Coltart has said there is no simmering crisis between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In his comment on X, Coltart said that the two nations are bound by a shared history and culture and that Zambians are brothers and sisters to Zimbabweans.

This development follows the comments made by the Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa last week in his conversation with Russian president where he slammed US support in Zambia.

Coltart attributed any perceived tensions to Zimbabwe’s struggles with democracy and the imposition of a one-party state, rather than any genuine conflict between the peoples of the two nations.

He warned against attempts to stir up tensions, labeling them as harmful to regional interests.
