The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has endorsed Mr. Mubita Nawa, Director of Administration in the Zambia Police Service, as its candidate for Secretary General of INTERPOL.

The SADC Summit Heads of State and Government endorsed Nawa’s candidature, following a recommendation from the SADC Council of Ministers.

According to SADC Secretariat Director of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Affairs, Professor Kula Ishmael Theletsane, Nawa has extensive experience in combating transnational organized crime and strategic leadership skills which qualifies him for the role

SADC believes Nawa’s leadership will enhance INTERPOL’s effectiveness and foster stronger partnerships among member countries.
