In a press statement believed to be released by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), the ZDF said it is monitoring the drought situation in the country and ensuring that food is distributed without any political involvement.
The press statement released on May 16 also emphasizes the need for authorities to make the ZIG available to citizens.
“The unavailability of ZIG notes and coins, in our view further degrade confidence in the currency amongst citizens. Strong recommendations are that relevant authorities act swiftly to avert any further loss of confidence in the currency,” the statement reads
The press release also commended the arrest of Neville Mutsvangwa and other money changers and urged the government to address the highlighted issues as they pose a threat to national security.
