Econet has issued a warning to the public, cautioning them about scammers who are selling used recharge cards.
The streets of Harare have seen a surge in crime due to the country’s economic challenges, leaving many struggling to survive.
In a recent statement, Econet advised customers to top up their airtime in the vendor’s presenceĀ and report any misconduct to the authorities.
The statement also emphasized the features of a legitimate recharge card, including a watermark with the instructions “Do not scratch with a sharp object” or “Scratch off the panel to reveal the subscription key“.
