The former CCC legislator, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere will today appear in the High Court to hear her appeal against the conviction and sentence which she was given in 2023.

Mahere was convicted for tweeting against the police brutality after they killed a baby strapped onto the mother’s back with a baton stick.

Though Mahere had enough evidence against the police, the court accused her of communicating falsehood.

She says everyone in the video shouted “auraya mwana ” and the police issued a statement confirming the incident but the police officer wasn’t brought to book.
