Mahere Acquitted.
The High Court has acquitted Advocate Fadzayi Mahere on an appeal following the conviction of communicating falsehood in 2021 when she accused the police of kill a baby strapped onto the mothers back with a baton stick.
In her appeal she argued that the offence in terms of which she was charged and jailed at Chikurubi Maximum Prison was invalid.
The High Court confirmed that she was arrested, prosecuted and convicted on the basis of an offence that doesn’t exist.
Posting on X Mahere said, ” it feels good to have a clean criminal record again.”
