United States Republican Senator Tim Scott has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race.

Scott from South Carolina had hoped to become the first African-American to secure the Republican nomination.

He announced the suspension of his presidential campaign on Sunday.

Tim 58, entered the presidential race in May for the Republican nomination. He presented himself as a deeply conservative candidate.

Scott’s exit from the presidential race comes as former Vice-President Mike Pence, 64, withdrew from the race in late October after struggling to gain the support of Republican voters.
