AIR Zimbabwe has appointed Edmund Makona as its substantive chief executive with effect from 1 November.

Makona has been holding the post in an acting capacity since April when he took over from Tafadzwa Zaza.

The Air Zimbabwe board made the announcement in a statement yesterday.

“The Air Zimbabwe (Private) Limited board of directors is pleased to advise all stakeholders that Mr Edmund Makona has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Airline with effect from November 1, 2023. Mr Makona, has been appointed in terms of Section 14 (4) (b) of the Public”reads part of the statement

Makona, is a regional and international aviation expert and consultant with over 38 years of experience.
