President Emmerson Mnangagwa says he won the August 2023 harmonised elections free and fair.

Mnangagwa was addressing the general debate of the 78th Session of the General Assembly in New York.

“Zimbabwe continues to entrench democracy, constitutionalism, good governance and the rule of law, following the recently held 2023 harmonized general elections,” he said.

President Mnangangwa highlighted that the country has been under illegal, unilateral economic sanctions for 23 years, imposed by some Western countries which is affecting development.

He demanding that such measures be unconditionally lifted, including those imposed on countries like Cuba.
