Permanent secretary for information Nick Mangwana has revealed that Citizens Coalition for Change spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere refused an offer to join national broadcaster ZBC in 2018.
Mangwana said its a strange thing that Mahere is attacking ZBC yet she declined the opportunity to serve and help reform the broadcaster.
“You know, the strange thing is that, in October 2018, a spokesperson of one of the parties contesting these elections was approached to join the ZBC Board, and she declined. She had been given the opportunity to serve and help reform the ZBC”, he wrote.
This comes after Fadzayi accused the national broadcaster of being was skewed in favour of Zanu PF.
Mangwana said Mahere is now regretting declining the offer; “just as well. The ZBC was reformed regardless. Do we detect some regret expressing itself as bitterness? May explain all this effort at ZBC bashing.”
