Democratic Union of Zimbabwe (DUZ) leader Robert Chapman has withdrawn from the presidential elections.
In statement, Chapman said he has decided to with draw his candidature despite successfully filing nomination papers at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.
Chapman cited financial constraints and polarisation as some of the reasons for the withdrawal.
Meanwhile, his party will field only six candidates for the parliamentary elections and an undisclosed number of candidates for local council elections
“I look forward to campaigning on the ground with all our successfully nominated candidates and remain committed to improving the dialogue about building a better Zimbabwe,” he said.
