His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa has lit the Independence Flame as he leads the 43rd Independence Day Celebrations at Pfura Stadium, Mt Darwin.
Addressing the nation, Mnangagwa said he is honoured and privileged to lead the nation on the country’s 43rd Independence Day.
Mnangagwa said the celebrations serve as a jubilant statement and symbol of honour to the many sons and daughters of Zimbabwe who fought to liberate the country.
The First family was accompained by VP Chiwenga and his wife, Cde Kembo Mohadi and other senior government officials.
This marks the first independence to be held in a rural province. The Celebrations are running under the theme: “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo/llizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo”
