Former President of Botswana Dr Ian Khama won the African Philanthropist award at the Heritage Awards held in Kigali, Rwanda, on yesterday.

Khama took to social to celebrate the achievement adding that he is humbled to be the first person to receive the award in the first ever African Heritage Concert.

The Afri-Heritage 23 is a platform that has been designed celebrate and honour distinguished African personalities, who have dignified themselves through remarkable achievements across the globe.

Presidents from Nigeria, Botswana, and Tanzania were among the recipients of the awards.
