A Zimbabwean man Witness Majoni has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for kidnapping a 15-year-old boy in South Africa.
The New Law Regional Court in Gqeberha convicted Majoni (40) on Tuesday for kidnapping his former girlfriend’s son on 8 August 2022 at gunpoint and demanded R20 000 ransom.
The investigation team arrested Majoni on 10 August 2022 in Thohoyandou, Limpopo province.
The court sentenced Majoni to five years for kidnapping, five years for extortion, two years for assault and three years for each of the two counts of pointing with a firearm
