Botswana Police Service have issued a statement debuting an announcement that was made on the Sunday Standard Newspaper on 25 September to 2 October which says pedestrians who are found walking down the street with earphones or headphones will be arrested and charged.
The newspaper claimed that the Botswana Police service announced the news on Radio Botswana 2.
“In light of the above,the BPS would like to put it on record that what appears in the mentioned article is unfounded and misleading”, said the Botswana Police Service in a statement.
The statement concluded by urging the public to conduct themselves in a manner that may not put their lives in danger especially whilst walking near or crossing the road.
