South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has defended Limpopo Member of the Executive Council (MEC) of health Dr. Phophi Ramathuba’s xenophobic attacks.

Ramathuba sparked debate after she was recorded in a video berating a Zimbabwean patient at Bela Bela hospital in Limpopo province.

She said Zimbabweans are flocking to South Africa for Health care while the country is struggling to deliver services to SA citizens.

Ramaphosa said Heads of State and Government in Africa must discuss the issues raised by Limpopo MEC of Health.

He said said Ramathuba raised important issues in relation to immigration and the ability of the State to deliver service to South Africans.
