Reuben E. Brigety II, has officially assumed his position as the new Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of South Africa.
Ambassador Reuben was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden on February 10, 2022 to be the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa.
He served as the 17th Vice Chancellor of the University of the South and Mayor of Sewanee from June 2020 until December 2021.
Reuben E. Brigety II met with President Cyril Ramaphosa today as he began his new role.
