Sowetan newspaper reported that the lawyer, Advocate Malesela Teffo who is representing four of the five accused has accused Kelly Khumalo and all those who were in the house when Senzo was murdered of being responsible for the soccer star’s death.
Advocate Malesela Teffo explained yesterday to the Pretoria High Court that the version of events that was said to the public about a robbery is not true. He added that two criminal cases using different theories were opened at the Vosloorus Police station.
One case was opened in October 2014 and the other in 2019. Teffo revealed that the case opened in 2014 alleges that two suspects entered Khumalo’s house with intentions of robbing and as they were leaving, Meyiwa was shot.
On the other hand the 2019 case alleges that the suspects should be people who were in the house with the deceased on that day. The killer and the murder weapon were in the house. It is reported in the paper that seven people should be charged with the murder of Senzo Meyiwa, and defeating the ends of justice.
The accused would be, Longwe Twala, Kelly Khumalo, Gladness Khumalo, Zandi Khumalo, Tumelo Madladla, Mthokozisi Twala, and Maggy Phiri. Please read the full story in today’s Sowetan newspaper- Wednesday June 1 2022.
