Sunday World reports that South African artists Shasha, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza have been sued for R500 000 after failing to show up for the Victoria Falls Carnival, held at the Elephant Hills Resort last month.

The carnival organisers accused the three artistes of failing to honour their contract despite being paid R250 000 appearance fee.

Due to failure to show up, event organisers lost more tha R414 000 which includes R250 000 perfomance fee, R20 000 agent fee, R91 000 for return flights, R22 500 for immigration work permit, R15 000 for Zimbabwe income tax, R9000 for the consesus board and R25 650 for accommodation

DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Sha Sha were supposed to kick off their carnival
performances with a one-hour long act.

Lawk Communication representing the trio said they will only pay R230 000 as a refund of booking fee as other costs are not theirs to settle.
