Zimbabwean police arrested a Chinese man Zhang Yongquan for overstaying in the country by two years.

Zhang, 56, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Harare magistrate Shane Kubonera on Monday.

Zhang entered Zimbabwe in March 21, 2020, and was given a 30-day holiday visa which expired on April 20 2020, he never sought an extension when his visa expired.

Immigration officials, who were carrying out compliance checks on foreign nationals within Harare, went to his home in Avondale.

Upon arrival at the premises, It was found out he had overstayed in Zimbabwe, leading to his arrest.
