A Harare based traditional healer has revealed why the Capetown mermaid was spotted outside water.
Speaking to Drewmas media, She said mermaids abide by certain rules under water hence if rules are broken they get thrown outside.
A video circulating on the internet shows the mermaid that washed up at Muizenberg, Cape Town.
The Sangoma said mermaids are real however it is strange for them to be seen by everyone unless if there is someone possessed with a mermaid spirit.
She added that the structure of the mermaid circulating is different from a real mermaid.
