Permanent secretary of Information Nick Mangwana has penned a touching message in rememberance of media mogul Zororo Makamba.
Makamba was the first victim of Covid-19 in the country early 2020.
Writing on Twitter, Mangwana said Makamba was a unique talent which is irreplaceable.
“Today is 2 years since his departure, but we just can’t forget. We won’t forget. He was a unique talent which is irreplaceable. A real joy to work with. He became the first victim of Covid19 in this country, and the Nation was robbed. Rest in Glory
@ZororoMakamba”
Makamba posted commentary on Zimbabwean politics and society online under the heading “State of the Nation” and hosted current affairs programs on ZiFM Stereo and M-Net television affiliate Zambezi Magic.
He had myasthenia gravis, a neuroskeletomuscular autoimmune disease, and underwent surgery to remove a thymoma gland tumour in November 2019.
He was diagnosed on 21 March 2020 with COVID-19, twelve days after returning from New York City. He died in Harare two days later.
