Human rights activist, Hopewell Chin’ono has distanced himself from the Zimbabwe LGBTIQ group which is set to tour the counrty raising awareness on GBV.
This comes after a poster with the details of the campaign was shared. Hopewell was cited as one of the high profile representstives to grace the campaign.
Posting on twitter, Chin’ono said his name was included in the article without his consent.
“It is unfortunate that whoever is behind these events has chosen to put my name without my consent.I have NOTHING to do with these events, and it is a LIE that I would be there!
He added that his name has been used dishonestly to ride on his public profile.
“It is WRONG and UNPROFESSIONAL!”
