The President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent condolences following the untimely passing of Douglas Munatsi.

 

In a statement, the president said he is still in shock because of the incident.

 

“The death early this morning of our inaugural Chief Excellency Officer of the Zimbabwe Investment Development Authority, ZIDA, in unclear circumstances came to me as a shock,” said the president.

 

“On behalf of government and on my behalf, I wish to console the Manutsi family, especially Amai Munatsi and the children who now have to face the world without husband and loving father respectively,” he added.

 

“As we wait completion of police investigation into this fatal fire incident they continue to find comfort and solace in the visible footprints the late departed made in serving his country. May his dear soul rest in eternal peace,” said Mnangagwa.

Munatsi died in the early hours of Monday after his house caught fire.

 

He was found dead by the fire brigade team which arrived at 3am and managed to handle the fire by 5am.
