Painful details have emerged on the Granvia-Toyota Wish accident that happened near Zvishavane on Wednesday.
According to multiple sources, 9 family members were part of the people who died on the spot after a Granvia burst a tyre and veered onto the lane of the oncoming Toyota Wish.
Twenty people were on Wednesday confirmed dead by the Zimbabwe Republic Police following the accident.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police further confirmed that three injured victims were taken to Zvishavane District Hospital.
However, the Zimbabwe Republic police has further revealed that two more people have died while receiving treatment at the hospital taking the death toll to 22.
With this latest information by the Zimbabwe Republic Police, this means that only one individual has survived the accident.
The overloaded vehicles had a head-on collision at the 61km peg along Masvingo – Mbalabala Road near Chitowa Business Centre, just after Mhandamabwe.
