Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has given green light for musicians to resume live shows.

Honourable Machakaire revealed the good news via social media platforms this afternoon.

“Please join me in extending gratitude to H.E CDE E.D Mnangagwa who has given artists a greenlight to resume live shows on condition they do not exceed the stipulated 50 people. Let us not abuse this privilege and adhere to the regulations outlined by WHO & our COVID-19 taskforce,” tweeted Machakaire.

The go ahead comes after Selmor Mtukudzi pledged with the President last week.

Zimbabwean artists have been struggling to earn money since the outbreak of coronavirus in March 2019.

The artists have been trying to make money through live performances in the neighbouring countries such as South Africa among others.

However, the increase of Covid-19 cases in South Africa led to the adjustment of Covid-19 guidelines.

Live were performances were affected leading to Sungura legend Alick Macheso to cancel his shows that were scheduled to be hosted in South Africa.
