Former South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, yesterday challenged the order by Pietermaritzburg High Court acting judge, Barry Skinner, in which he was asked to pay R95 000 per month to his wife, Thobeka Madiba Zuma.

The matter was heard by Judge Jerome Mnguni, who said the matter was not urgent and adjourned it to June.

Zuma wants the court to reduce the amount to the original R20 000 per month that he had offered to pay, when he responded to the case.

Zuma told the court that the large sums of money that came into his bank account were not income, but donations from members of the public and sympathizers.

Zuma said he pays his VBS bond of R66 000 by cash and the absence of this amount on his bank statement does not mean he has any hidden income.

Zuma said he has a large extended family and owes R13 Million in legal fees.
