The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa has revealed that he had a call at midnight with Magufuli during the cyclone idai.

The President said Magufuli was the first president to donate to Zimbabwe when the country was in need of help during the cyclone.

He revealed that during a call with John Magufuli, he mistakenly requested for Mosquitoes instead of Mosquito nets.

Addressing the public at Magufuli’s ceremony, President Emmerson Mnangagwa conveyed deepest condolences to excellency, Samia Sulu Hussen, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and to the Magufuli family.

Mnangagwa further said that John Pombe Magufuli established a reputation as a man of action in order to develop Tanzania.

“He was a true Pan African who believed in the need for Africa, to increase economic cooperation and trade for the benefits of our peoples, and he was the lead from the front, who was passionate about the welfare of his people, and the development and prosperity of Africa”, said Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa delivered a speech at an event that was attended by many African leaders including Uhuru Kenyatta, Cyril Ramaphosa among others.
