The Zimbabwe Republic Police have confimed the arrest of Samantha Carr and her son, Tyrone, for the murder of her drug addict son, Dylan.
The story has shocked the Borrowdale community in Harare who knew the family as ordinary peace loving people.
According to a voice note circulating on social media, Dylan was in the habit of beating his mother, Samantha, demanding money for drugs. In January, Dylan beat Samantha so badly that she lost all her front teeth.
In a fit of rage, Tyrone went into the house and took a gun, which he used to shoot Dylan dead.
Samantha and Tyrone decided to hide the murder and buried Dylan in the backyard of their home.
This week, in an unrelated event, on Friday, 12 March 2021, Tyrone ran over the family driver, who was rushed to the ICU.
It is reported that when Tyrone arrived at the police station, he broke down and confessed to the murder of his brother to the police who arrested him.
Police went to the house and found the body of Dylan in a shallow grave on the spot that was pointed out by Tyrone, resulting in the arrest of Samantha.
