One of Shepherd Bushiri’s lawyers, Terrance Baloyi, says that he is suing the South African Police Services for what he considers an unlawful arrest and detention that happened earlier this month.

Baloyi has given the police service 30 days to make the huge payment before further action is taken against them by him and his law firm.

Responding to Baloyi’s decision to take legal action, the Hawks have said that the arrest was not unlawful.

They also said that Baloyi and Alvin Khosa, a legal advisor, were arrested for corruption, defeating the ends of justice and intimidation in connection with the withdrawal statements by victims who had accused Bushiri of rape.
