Newly elected Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, says the last elections were a battle of ideas, which the NRM won and Bobi wine.

Museveni said the NRM based its campaign on four principles namely:

  1. Love for Uganda
  2. Pan Africanism
  3. Economic development and infrastructure development and
  4. Military strength

Museveni discouraged Ugandans from violence and said his government is not a shallow force that can be tossed around by opportunists. Museveni said forget about violence because it wont work. He also said threats wont work and it will just create unnecessary blood pressure for Bobi Wine.

He promised that Uganda will do even better with the current deals being signed with Total and Shell. He said there are more oil discoveries of oil and gas in other provinces.

Museveni congratulated the MNR for the over 35 years in power and Ugandans for a peaceful elections.
