Newly elected MDC-T president, Douglas Mwonzora has revealed that the decision on whether his party will go into a unity government with ED Mnangagwa’ s government is not up to him.

He said the decision on forming a unity government will have to come from Mnangagwa. However, on his part, the MDC-T will be forming a shadow government for all government ministries as the official opposition.

Mwonzora said he is not aware of the deal that former Acting President, Thokozani Khupe had agreed with Mnangagwa.

He denied any knowledge of a phone call by Khuphe to get him arrested and said such a call would constitute an abuse of public office.

Mwonzora said if Mnangagwa was to approach him with such an offer, his party would accept it as they believe in negotiating and not in confrontation.
