Popular Award Winning Zimbabwe International Journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono, today slammed poor work culture among Zimbabweans.
Chin’ono wrote on Facebook:
I would add that supporting our people is really tough.
Many of them are extremely unprofessional and simply lacking in emotional intelligence.
I had 4 workmen at my property doing various works the day I was arrested, all had been paid cash upfront.
When they heard on the radio that I had been arrested, only 1 continued coming to work.
The day I got bail, they were back the next morning! Sad but true!
I now use established businesses on anything because they will deliver.
I thought I would be supporting my folks but it is not worth the hassle!
The other time I left for London when I had 3 people repairing a flat I had bought.
The next day they didn’t turn up for work and never did until the day I came back besides having paid them upfront!
It is a Zim culture problem
