The Sowetan reports that two former employees have confirmed that Vodacom ‘s own calculations showed that they owe ‘ Please Call Me’ Inventor, Nkosana Makate, at least R68. 5 Billion.
The former employees, Teboho Motaung who was responsible for the calculations and Wanda Dlamini, who extracted the data from an old IT system, said the data was still accessible inside Vodacom systems as of 2018.
Vodacom had offered Makate R47 Million after the Constitutional Court ruled in his favor.
However, Makate rejected the figure as inadequate.
Both Motaung and Dlamini have written sworn affidavits in support of Makate’s case.
