Colon cancer has became more common and is killing more prominent Zimbabweans.
Colon cancer occurs when a tumor grows in the colon blocking or obstructing one from passing stool. The tumor can be on the right side or on the left side.

Consitipation and regular use of laxatives use has been found to be linked to colon cancer.
If you suffer from diarrhea for more than a few weeks, this could be a sign of colon cancer.
3. Blood in the stools
If you notice dark red and brown blood in your stool, this could be a sign of bowel, rectal or colon cancer. Bleeding can also be caused by a stomach ulcer or piles, but blood from these two diseases is red in color.
4. Constant feeling of a bowel movement
If you have a constant feeling of bowel movement but no stool is passed despite straining, this could be a sign of colon cancer, this feeling can occur even after you have just passed a stool.
5. Narrow Stools
Narrow, long stools are a sign of colon cancer which indicates that a tumor is obstructing the left side of the colon.
6. Tender abdomen or abdominal pain
If your lower abdomen feels tender or painful when touched, this could be a sign of colon cancer. This can also show that the cancer has started spreading to other organs.

2.Avoid drinking alcohol
3. Stop smoking
4. Excersizw regularly for at least 30 minutes a day
5. If you are overweight, take steps to lose weight gradually
6. Screen annually for colon and other cancers
