Sowetan Newspaper reports that Prophet Sheperd Bushiri was linked to the failed undercover Billionaires scam where investors did not receive the promised huge returns since 2017.
Portia Mzizi (55), said she lost R65 000 in the failed investment, which was fronted by a South African, former Kaizer Chiefs Spokesman, Louis Tshakoane.
Other investors told the Sowetan that Undercover Billionaires operated from Sandton, however, when the investors demanded their money, they were taken to Bushiri’s ECG church in Pretoria.
On arrival, the group of investors, said they could see Louis going in and out of the church offices consulting with someone, and would tell them “Papa said”. The woman who spoke to the Sowetan says now they know that papa was Bushiri.
Bushiri’s lawyers responded and denied that Bushiri was behind the scheme but was merely an investor. However, he said he will pay back the purported investors.
