Elizabeth Sidiropoulos, chief executive of the South African Institute of International Affairs says South Africa has failed to be an innocent broker in dealing with Zimbabwe matters.

In an Interview with Newsroom Afrika, Elizabeth said any delegation sent to Zimbabwe must meet all stakeholders in the country to resolve the culminating national crisis.

Elizabeth said South Africa has to make bold statements and condemn the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe despite the country saying no one should intervene in its internal affairs.

Intervention in Zimbabwe is not about closing the border but it is at a diplomatic level that solutions can come out.

Elizabeth said South Africa can make a strong point about how the situation in Zimbabwe can be dealt with at the SADC summit culminating this Friday.
