UN Special Envoy Strive Masiyiwa joined South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in lauching the African Medical Supplies platform.

Masiyiwa said there will be two hubs, namely: Johannesburg and Addis Ababa.

Airlines who have joined the platform will be paid commercial rates. There is a fund at Afrixembank to pay the airlines who are carrying very big loads.

There is no road carriage, and it is anticipated that cargo will not be moved daily.

All African Countries will receive the goods FOB because the platform is paying the Carriers for transport.

The benefit of volume will be seen in the large volume that will be transported. Suppliers will pay attention if Africa buys in bulk.

There are no donors involved in paying for supplies. Countries can buy on credit using a facility at Afrixembank.
