The Nelson Chamisa led MDC held a modelling contest for rural based women as a strategy to mobilize and conquer vote rigging.
Earlier reports show that MDC-A is organising its structures by linking branches to polling stations across the country.
The development comes after the party’s stream of defeats in rural areas particularly the recently held Hwedza and Tsholotsho elections.
Chalton Hwende said “Today at Musinami Business Centre a mere 5km from my rural home, our Women Assembly had a recruitment and rural women celebration day.
We have a rural strategy which needs resources, we are mobilizing and we will conquer vote rigging” he said.
On the MDC Mashwest twitter handle, the party said “These women are the backbone of our struggle and we celebrate them and their resilience,” said the party.
