Career
He started by performing in different bands in late 1980s in his hometown Kwekwe.He worked with Shirichena Jazz Band as a session musician and helped them release their two albums in 1991.
In 1996 he released his first solo album , Vimbo with his newly found band Utakataka Express.This album marked his career in the Sungura genre which was famous at that time.
During his career , Dhewa performed in the UK , U.S.A , South Africa and Mozambique where he had won so many hearts with his artistic talent

Controversies
*He did not attend his father’s funeral as he was preparing fot his UK tour.
*Tongai Moyo started beef with Sungura Legend , Alick Macheso saying he was not of his league.
*He did a public H.I.V test to proof his health status to naysayers.
*He was rumoured to beating up his band members when they behave unprofessionally.
