Tajamuka leader Promise Mkwananzi has highlighted that he is in the process of writing a formal petition to the Global Fund seeking the return or turning down of the $1 million USD offer by ED Mnangagwa.

ED Mnangagwa pledged the money in France at the recently held Global Fund conference. The money was towards the intensified fight against HIV and many other epidemics. French President Emanuel Macron commended Zimbabwe over it’s committed fight against epidemics.

ED Mnangagwa was criticized for having misplaced priorities. Critics argued that ED Mnangagwa was supposed to first pay doctors who are currently on strike at home before he starts charity away from home.

Promise Mkwanazi argued the same that ED Mnangagwa should pay health workers first before pledging to organisations.

He also implored the organisation to return the money.

Promise is a long time critic and anti Mnangagwa government activist. He has been in and out of cells and courts of organising protests.
